CHADA KATAVI PEOPLE

Peter Gordon and Anita Els have recently joined us at Chada Katavi, and we're very happy that they have. Peter has been involved in the tourism industry for over 20 years (including 8 years guiding in a variety of wilderness areas). Anita, in her pre-bush life, was a Scuba Diving instructor, owning her own dive school in Cape Town. After they married, they moved to the very remote Okavango Delta in Botswana, and ran Kwara Camp - for Kwando Safaris - for 4 1/2 years. This was the start of a very successful partnership, with a shared passion for the bush, and a love of life in the most beautiful and far-flung areas, as far away as they could get from towns and cities.

In 2004 the lure of east Africa saw them move up to Tanzania, where they managed the Serengeti Migration Camp for 2 1/2 years, before joining us in Katavi. Anita says "Every camp that we have managed has been treated as our home and we have made many friends over the years, thus we have just spent 3 months traveling around the USA including Alaska visiting these friends. Chada Katavi is now becoming our home as we settle in, and we look forward to welcoming you to this very special place".
